How an 82-yr-old Man is Planning a Special Present for His 6-yr-old Daughter! … Part 1

Recent past:
Just under two years ago, in early 2021 I turned 80 and received this soccer shirt with my name on it from my grandchildren in England. I live in Australia now, and the shirt is from Oldham in England’s Lancashire … my hometown back in the UK. This special present brought joy into my heart.
You’ve probably never heard of Oldham Athletic, but fans of that club will understand how special that shirt is to me (a born-and-bred Oldhamer).
(And this applies to any soccer fan anywhere. Your team shirt is special!)
In June of that year, I wrote a story about that special shirt titled:

Just before I turned 80 my daughter Caroline back in England, wanted to visit Australia to celebrate that milestone, but COVID put a damper on all the plans. I was told: “Stay as you are (79-year-old) and we’ll come when COVID is gone”.
Caroline & husband Ian still haven’t come, and I’ll be 82 in four months’ time! Read on to get the good news:
