A great and succinct analysis Susan.
Knowing the traditional story is so important and, in the right circumstances can even be used today. for example, one of my own articles (a love song to my wife) titled: A Love Song for My Princess
(https://fred-almost-famous.medium.com/baae372859db?source=friends_link&sk=d231607d1c76406abb96a46f61c3c527) is a song I wrote some 50 years ago (though its words of love still hold true).
It uses a phrase that 'echos' the pumpkin-change of the real Cinderella story when it says that I: "tip-toed past the midnight hour, Cinderella's gold just turned to clay" in the hesitancy of those early days of love.
By the way Susan, I want to say thank you for choosing to follow me. I have reciprocated.
May your day be just right for you, and I hope that you will continue to write inspirational stories.
All the best to you and yours,
Fred
