You are quite right when you say that follower counts are worthless statistics ... I, (like you), know that, so ... when I tell someone that 'I've decided to follow them', I only say it after I've genuinely checked out (and read, samples from) their Medium Home Page.

However I still say 'thank you Christala' because you weren't to know that.
