Some time ago, I wrote a series of articles in the run-up to Christmastime, and I published them in December so as to coincide with Advent Season.

Definition of Advent: A season observed in most Christian denominations as a time of waiting and preparation for the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ … recalling the physical nativity in Bethlehem, and the reception of Christ in the heart of the believer, as well as his promised return.

To assemble my Advent series of articles I explored a mix of religious and non-religious themes in order to see how Advent is viewed today, and how the commercial world has adopted and adapted some of its traditions.

One of the first commercial overlays that I came across was a ‘take’ on the traditional Christian hymn: “O Come let Us Adore Him”, (written to celebrate the birth of Jesus), which had been commercialized by using the title of that hymn in a quite clever way, with a neat play on words. Here’s how I showed it in my first Advent article:
