Hello Brandon … this is Fred … writing to thank you for reading some of my Medium stuff, and for liking what you read.

I decided to check out your stories and found this one. It reminded me of my own experiences of many many years ago:

I was a science graduate who went into teaching.

I did well; got promotions etc, then, I decided to go into teacher training (I'd been helping local university lecturers assess my own students and I 'had the feel for it'), but ... even after all my years of teaching, I'd never actually done a course in 'teaching'! A bit like you now!

So I enrolled in a part-time course (just for the qualification title etc), but wow - it turned out to be the best thing I ever did.

During that course, not only was my on-going daily teaching vastly improved, but at the end of the course I did enter teacher training (with a teaching qualification!) as a lecture; got promoted real quick to senior lecturer, and since have traveled the world as an international educationist.

Brandon - it is well worth while putting yourself through a teaching course. Do it ... you'll be 10 times better than you are now. Believe me.
