Hello James ... this is Fred ... first time call.

Only hours ago, you became my latest 'follower' and I am writing to thank you for choosing to do that.

I have reciprocated which is something that I always do to those who press my follow button.

But I do more than just 'click' - I do check stories - and this one of your shows you as having good antennae for spotting stupidity & worthless pursuits - like these pieces of advice re 'quick-reading'.

I've been publishing on Medium now for one year and my gripe is towards those persistent (and they are persistent - very!) who tell you how to get more followers and how to get more money. They seem to focus on this instead of simply on 'good writing'.

Trouble is (with me), I can't help having a quick read of them (so they do 'hook you.) I guess that's what 'click-bait' does. More fool me!!

Anyway, enough of this rant.

I hope that we two can both continue to write about things that interest, inspire; and bring a touch of happiness into the lives of others.

Maybe we can share each other’s stories with friends and colleagues. It's nice to share nice things, isn't it? I wish you well with your own writing. And much success.
