Hello Jason … this is Fred … first time call.
I just wanted to say thank you for recently choosing to follow me. I always like to cross-follow those who bother to read my articles, and I have clicked your follow button in the hope that from time-to-time I’ll be able to see and read some of your own stuff.
The story I’m commenting on now: 'Mini Retirements' made me (like you) want to tell the world how to do it!
I've sort-of 'retired' three or four times ... now let me recall:
1. at age 38, after education roles as senior lecturer and education adviser to a large area in England I 'gave it up/thought a bit/ then went to the Central Pacific as Head of Education in Teacher Training. This led to work in Papua New Guinea in the health sector.
2. at age 48, following a short spell back in England as senior lecturer, I did it again ... this time it led to an invitation to 'come teach senior chemistry' in Australia.
I've been here some 30+ years now and have enjoyed working as a teacher and, also as an Assistant Director in the National Education Office in Canberra.
3. At another 'retirement-thinking' point (mid-way through this Australian spell) I retired again, this time being introduced to Real Estate and I ran my own Real Estate business for some 15 years.
4. Now I just 'sit and write'.
Can you believe that? Of course not - I'm still looking forward, positively, to more changes and developments in the future.
Sorry to take up so much space, but hey, Jason, you got me fired-up!!
I wish you well with your own writing.
May your day be just right for you … all the best to you and yours,
Fred
