Hello LB ... this is Fred.
Thank you for the deep analysis of my Chicken & Egg article. It's nice to know that it makes people think - as YOU did with your chordate transmogrification note.
I don't know where the 'divine' comment comes from though, as my article's thrust was a non-divine evolutionary explanation of the egg's appearance over time.
By-the-way, whilst you are correct in saying that I could have extended my egg-explanation right back to the chordates, i chose not to for quite obvious reasons: The article's aim was to unlock the cyclical conundrum of the Chicken and Egg which required (only) an explanation of how the SHELLED egg originated, which, (as I described), was at the reptile stage of evolution.
To go back further in any detail would have 'lost' the shelled egg focus.
If I wanted to go back further, why stop at the chordates? Eggs are a feature of pre-chordates, with millions of organisms producing eggs in the invertebrate kingdom.
My explanation of the shelled egg's origin was surely long-winded enough (as you rightly point out), without adding your suggestion of going back even further.
Also, LB, it was my intention to follow you (it really was) because I do appreciate thinking people, but I only found two articles on your Medium page - one dating back to Jan 1st, 2021, so there was little incentive to follow (yet).
Let me know if you ever put more stories of your own on Medium and I will gladly follow you.
If you haven't already clicked the ‘follow’ tab to my stories, I'd love you to do so, but only if my stories are of interest to you LB.
I hope that we can both continue to write about things that interest, inspire and bring a touch of happiness into the lives of others.
May your day be just right for you, and I hope that you will write more stories on Medium.
All the best to you and yours,
Fred

‘All You Need to Know About Fred’ is pinned a-top of my home page. Seen it yet?
* I’m assuming that you are already a Medium member. If not, please use my invitation link – you’ll find it at the end of all my stories, and in ‘All You Need to Know About Fred’
PPS:
I checked all your lists too and noticed that your COVID section was devoid of any articles. If you open my 'All you need to know about Fred' article, you'll find a linked index that includes all MY COVID Bulletins. There are 11. (an historical coverage over the last 18 months or so).
I'd be honored if you could include them in your lists collection.
Sorry for being so long-winded ... again! ... it's not my usual habit, but to respond to your comment and to your own writing record required me to be so!
I remain, your friend, and hope-to-be follower.
Fred
