Hello Maria ... this is Fred ... after a little while!

I was checking through your stories and came upon this PNG one - and it rang bells for me.

Many years ago, I lived and worked in PNG for two years. An interesting experience for sure, but unlike you, when I left, I had no intention of returning.

My work there was performed successfully, but other factors did paint a different picture, like: rascals robbing my college in the open daylight, before my very eyes! And the murder (on his doorstep) of my next-door neighbour, and, we lived in a protected college compound.

Glad you had good memories (as I do too), but hey, hey ... this is PNG!

PS: What's your opinion on self-publishing on Medium - by just clicking a new draft with 'publish' without nominating a publisher?

Is it worth it, and do you know what happens to your story when you do this?

maybe you've not done it, but if you have ... advice please.
