I've been reading your brief article on 'commenting' and you are 'spot-on'. Well done.

my own experience is much the same as yours.

I believe that commenting on a story encourages the writer and 'makes their day', and if you also tell them (or remind them) that you are following them, well, that's a bonus!

If they choose to follow you back then that's a bonus for you too.
