I enjoyed the read, and I do sympathise with your dilemma. Like you, I too respond and comment a lot, though not as much as you seem to do - and I do try to be helpful with each comment in order to encourage my fellow writers. Only twice have I received a negative or distasteful comment - both from editors - so your intro reflection rang a bell with me.
