I came across this ‘Medium’ article of yours only today - it was included in a post titled: ' The Dark History of Diamonds'.
It ‘caught my eye because of your reference to Southern Africa and the exploitation of poor black people
Back in 1970 I was working in Lesotho (a small country surrounded by South Africa) when I came into possession of a large diamond - offered to me by a man from Lesotho who had been working in one of the diamond mines.
I think he'd smuggled it out of SA (in his mouth?).
Anyway, I bought it ... then lost it in a nunnery!
I wrote about it in a Medium story titled: 'Me and The Lost Diamond'
