Hello Tom, this is Fred - also born in England; also went to Australia (and stayed there to live!); and also have connections with England's North East.

Of course, I am much older than you, much, much older, but I'm relatively new to Medium (writing my first article last November. I've since published some 60 more ... and am still churning them out.
