Paul McCartney, in his early 80s, is about to tour Australia (in Oct/Nov 2023) with his band, in a tour to be called “Got Back Tour”. Paul was of course, a key member of The Beatles, whose one and only Australian tour was way back in 1964.

The Beatles … one of the most-famous and most-loved pop groups of all time, were made up of four talented musicians: John Lennon (often seen as the group’s leader); Paul McCartney (a gifted composer, who after ‘The Beatles’ Era’ ended, pursued his own successful musical career); George Harrison (the quiet, deep-thinking guitarist); and Ringo Starr (drummer).

Most of the group’s songs were composed by Lennon & McCartney, but on one occasion John accused Paul of writing ‘Silly Love Songs’.
This little comment ‘stuck’ in Paul’s mind, and in 1976, with his late-wife Linda, he composed a song with that very title: “Silly Love Songs”.
