Thank you for this very short story Blaine. I have chosen it as my first foray into your story-telling following your recent decision to follow me because, like you, I have an interest in religion and especially the origins of religions . Thank you for choosing following me - I have reciprocated as you can see.
In this short story, you make an effort to 'answer' someone else's query about "what exactly were they chosen for" and your statement: "The important thing the OT does is recognize that there is but One God, and creates a religion of monotheism. And for that, The Hebrews/Jews should get credit (at being the chosen vehicle, not for being a 'special' tribe or 'special' group of people). I guess that you, like me, knowing something about this one-God origin story, would also agree that Abraham's FIRST son, Ishmael, was sent off to establish another special tribe - resulting ultimately in Islam.
Nice to meet you Blaine. I hope that we can both continue to write about things that interest; inspire; and bring a touch of happiness into the lives of others.
Maybe we can share each others stories with friends and colleagues. It's nice to share nice things isn't it?
May your day be 'just right' for you, and I hope that you will continue to write inspirational stories.
All the best to you and yours,
Fred
